About Mountain Software

Hi, I am Anthony Watson, the owner and operator of
Mountain Software. Originally from southern Illinois, I have lived in
beautiful Washington state for over 35 years.
I studied electronics in college and worked in that field until our
daughter was born in 1989. During my unexpected role as "Mr. Mom", I
quickly combined my love of cooking with my interest in computers, and
wrote my first recipe application in 1991.
I founded Mountain Software in 1992 following the release of "The
Recipe Box" for the Atari ST computers. In the years that followed, I
also created recipe programs for the Commodore Amiga and Apple
Macintosh. I released the first version of my Home Cookin recipe
software in 1996. Today I develop exclusively for Windows and continue
to improve my recipe software, and other applications.
I believe computer programs should be easy to use, and not overwhelm
users with features most people will never need. My products are
designed with this goal in mind.
My family and I use these products every day, and I hope you enjoy them
as much as we do. If you feel something is difficult or confusing,
please let me know. Many of the features in my software were based on
customer feedback.
Take care, God bless, and Thank You for your support!

The Handy Man Behind The Scenes
I am a serious do-it-yourself addict. When I'm not writing software or
designing my web site, I cook most of our meals, build most of our
furniture, and fix our own cars. My wife and I even designed and built
our own home in 2003/2004, doing all the foundation, framing,
plumbing,electrical, and finishing ourselves.
In recent years, my wife and I have completed a variety of remodeling
projects on my in-laws home, and I built a 150' mortared stone
retaining wall on our property.
One of my many projects includes a home made hot tub that we used for
several years. I created detailed
Hot Tub
Plans for others who may want to do the same.
I also enjoy making home videos of our vacations or other special
events.
I have put many of my favorites on my
Best Of The
Watson's Home Movies web page.
Currently I am restoring a 1976 VW Rabbit that I have been driving for
more than 25 years.
Best wishes from my family to yours!
